Oli's question to Dahal: Why was a discussion held with a lawyer to impeach the President?
Dahal's answer: Don't say wrong things, if there is a discussion, bring evidence
Before Monday's discussion, Poudel, Pun, Sharma and Pokhrel will be in charge of homework.
Kathmandu: Two CPN (Maoist) presidents KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal have clashed over the issue of 'impeachment of the President'. During the discussion held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar on Sunday afternoon, allegations were leveled between the Prime Minister and Chairman Oli and another Chairman Dahal on the issue of impeachment.
After summoning the minister and the minister of state to Baluwatar on Saturday evening, Prime Minister Oli announced his strategy to remove him from both posts and file an impeachment against the president. The next day, Oli and Dahal had a question and answer session. Both groups have told their close leaders about the dialogue between Dahal and Oli.
At the beginning of the discussion, Prime Minister Oli expressed his dissatisfaction over why he had discussed with the legal practitioners to impeach the President. In response, Dahal said, "Don't say anything wrong, if there is any discussion about the impeachment, give evidence." Oli then replied, "I know what you're doing." Dahal also expressed dissatisfaction over the misinformation by calling the ministers in Baluwatar.
During the meeting with Dahal, Oli had accused six members of the secretariat of conspiring against the government in Khumaltar on Saturday. According to a source, Dahal replied that he had consulted the Prime Minister after the party was about to split.
A discussion was held at Dahal's residence on Saturday between Dahal and senior leaders Jhala Nath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Vice President Bamdev Gautam, Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Ramhadur Thapa. That is why Prime Minister Oli was dissatisfied. Oli had raised questions about the discussions of the leaders of the Dahal-Nepal group with some legal practitioners in Khumaltar. According to sources, Dahal had replied, "We have discussed what to do if you split the party." Chairman Dahal was dissatisfied that the Prime Minister himself was preparing to file an impeachment against the President from Baluwatar.
Before meeting Oli, two senior leaders of the Dahal party, Jhala Nath Khanal and Madhav Kumar Nepal, had gone to the President to discuss the Prime Minister's remarks. Khanal said that the President was urged to be convinced that the rumors of impeachment were not true. Stating that the rumors were spread from Baluwatar, he said that they would not get the president's office into controversy.
"There is a big conspiracy going on now. Preparations have been made to impeach the President and remove me from both posts. Whose side are you on? Or go against the Prime Minister? This is the information you have received. Clear your position quickly. But, I will face it till the end, ”the Prime Minister told the ministers on Saturday.
According to the Prime Minister, Agriculture Minister Ghanshyam Bhusal and Energy Minister Barshaman Pun had objected. Energy Minister Pun said that such things should be done at the party meeting and that there should be no conspiracy based on suspicion. Minister Bhusal said that he had many examples of top leaders being misled by unnecessary rumors and urged the Prime Minister to understand the misuse of information.
It was agreed to hold further dialogue on Monday after questioning between the two presidents on the issue of impeachment. General Secretaries Bishnu Poudel, Barshaman Pun, Shankar Pokhrel and Janardan Sharma have been given the responsibility to do the homework. After the homework of the four leaders, the leaders are ready to hold a dialogue between Oli and Dahal on Monday and only after that a standing committee meeting will be held. Along with Dahal and Oli, Poudel, Pun, Pokhrel and Sharma were also present at the Baluwatar discussion on Sunday.
A meeting of the CPN (Maoist) Standing Committee has been called for Monday. It is said that a decisive discussion will be held between the two chairpersons before the meeting. The Dahal-Nepal faction in the CPN (Maoist) has demanded that Oli resign from both the post of prime minister and party chairman. Oli has replied that he will fight till the end but will not resign. Due to this dispute, the standing committee meeting held from June 26 has been postponed several times. Both sides are discussing future steps.
