Kathmandu. The day after the senior leaders demanded his resignation at the party's standing committee meeting, Prime Minister and Chairman of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) KP Sharma Oli secretly met President of the main opposition Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The wave of the secret meeting that took place on the night of July 3 did not abate. Subash Nemwang, the deputy leader of the parliamentary party, reached Budhanilkantha, Deuba's residence on Sunday as the envoy of Prime Minister Oli.
After this meeting, news started circulating under the headline 'Oli asked for Deuba's help in power cooperation', 'Home Ministry's proposal to the Congress and Finance'.
Did Oli really propose power cooperation with Deuba? According to the Congress leaders, this is just another chapter of the ongoing 'propaganda' in the CPN (Maoist).
According to the leaders, both Oli and Prachanda-Madhav Nepal, who are in the power struggle of the CPN (Maoist), are trying to send a message to the Congress that they are close to them. Because when the CPN (Maoist) really split tomorrow, the other party will be under pressure when it can convey the message that it is ready to form a government with the Congress.
Oli had met Deuba for the same purpose. It seems that there is a fear that Deuba may have tried to support Oli in the Prachanda-Madhav Nepal group as he wanted.
According to sources, a leader of the Prachanda Madhav group had called a Congress leader and asked about the Oli-Deuba meeting. While Prachanda was meeting Oli, another leader was talking to the Congress leader. And, his main interest was that Oli did not ask for help from Deuba.
Another rumor has surfaced after Nemwang met Deuba as Oli's envoy on Sunday, with the prime minister proposing Deuba as home and finance minister.
What was the conversation like during the meeting?
Nemwang had reached Deuba's residence Budhanilkantha around 10 am as the 'envoy' of Prime Minister Oli.
The meeting was arranged by Nemwang through Congress leader Minendra Rijal, who has been cooperating in the parliament. So he too had reached Budhanilkantha.
According to sources, Deuba had expressed dissatisfaction over the hasty end of the parliamentary session at the beginning of the dialogue. He said that it was wrong to end the convention after convening a meeting of the House of Representatives and setting the agenda. However, Nemwang, the deputy leader of the CPN (Maoist) parliamentary party, did not say anything and laughed.
After that, Nemwang said that he had come because the Prime Minister had asked him to meet him regarding the appointment of constitutional organs. Deuba claims that he did not try to bypass himself by bringing an ordinance some time ago. However, he said that now the meeting of the Constitutional Council can be held.
During the meeting, Deuba was referring to the internal disputes of the CPN (Maoist) and said that the Nepali Congress was not in favor of anyone. Get your point across soon. '
According to a source close to Deuba, Nemwang, the deputy leader of the CPN-MP, is also trying to settle the dispute by sitting down with the second tier leaders instead of covering it up. But the proposal for power cooperation has been publicized outside. When asked about this, Minendra Rijal, a leader who participated in the meeting, said, "In the internal dispute of the party, one side may have made such propaganda to show that the Congress is close to it to put pressure on the other side."
