CPN dispute: Oli-Prachanda talks are uncertain! "Leaders say one cannot wait indefinitely in the name of consensus"

Kathmandu. Attempts by the two presidents to balance the growing tension in the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) have been in vain.
The one-to-one talks between the two presidents KP Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', who have been sitting for four days in a row to settle the dispute, have become futile as the previous dialogues have become uncertain.

There are indications that the standing committee meeting convened for Friday will also be affected as the talks between the two leaders are uncertain.

A meeting of the standing committee, which has been postponed three times before, has been called on July 10 at 11 am. Earlier, attempts were made to reach an agreement between the two presidents, but there were indications that the dispute within the CPN (Maoist) would escalate further.

In the dialogue so far, Prime Minister Oli has said that he will not resign from the post of chairman and prime minister, but does not want to come to an agreement.

"Once the talks are over, one has to listen to the other and come to a compromise. But so far, one seems to be listening to the other but not compromising and not giving up.

"Even the previous talks have become futile," said a member of the CPN (Maoist) secretariat.

Though the talks held on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday were positive, the leaders understand that the situation has worsened due to the talks on Wednesday.

Although Oli and Prachanda left Baluwatar after the talks on Wednesday and asked to stay again on Thursday, it has not been decided yet for talks and dialogue between them until the news is ready on Thursday.

"It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. The time has not been set, "said Oli Prachanda, a member of the secretariat of the two leaders." There is no set time.

Standing Committee member Bhim Rawal said that the dialogue between the two leaders should be taken positively for consensus but prolonging the problem in the name of dialogue is like exacerbating the problem.

"Their efforts and talks are positive, but the tendency to take it to eternity and solve all the problems through personal talk rather than the party's legal system is not in line with the CPN's constitution, rules and procedures," Rawal said.

He said that he was waiting for the time to come considering the proposal coming from the chairpersons due to the growing antagonism in the party.

According to a leader close to Prachanda, the talks stalled as there was no sign of a consensus in Wednesday's meeting.

Leader Rawal said that postponing the meeting in the name of dialogue was weakening the party system. "Anyone who has faith in the organization, the law and the system, and wants the party to be strong or not, should always be able to make decisions from the party committee according to the law," Rawal said.

Another leader and CPN (Maoist) standing committee member Devendra Poudel said that the standing committee meeting could not be held until the landing at the top level.
"The dialogue is ongoing," he told Ratopati. We can't move forward until the dialogue is over. '
