Province 5 is the second most affected province in terms of infection. As of Monday evening, 1,176 people have been infected in the state. Four people have been killed in Corona in State-5.
According to Dizi Shahi, 186 people have committed suicide in State-1, 152 in State-2, 121 in Gandaki, 58 in Karnali and 115 in Far-Western.
Why would anyone kill themselves?

Corona, lockdown and suicide

Psychoanalyst Dr. Vasu Acharya says that some people choose the wrong path of suicide due to being confined at home for such a long time for the first time, not being able to run a business, and not being optimistic that life will be easier after being locked up.
According to a 2016 study by the World Health Organization (WHO), 79 percent of suicides occur in low- and middle-income countries. This shows that the economic crisis is an important cause of suicide.
'Don't think of Corona as a personal problem'
According to the WHO, 18.5 out of every 100,000 people in India commit suicide. Looking at the situation in Nepal, there are 11.4 people per lakh.
Of the 183 countries included in the WHO study, Nepal ranks 81st in terms of suicides. Since the lockdown began, 571 men, 396 women, 52 boys and 86 girls have committed suicide. Experts say that there is a tendency to commit suicide even in small things during Kovid-19.
"Corona is all over the world, so get rid of the fact that this is my personal problem," says Acharya, a psychoanalyst.
How responsible is the government?
Suicides are taking hundreds of times more lives than corona. It seems that the government should work to inspire the people during the Corona epidemic. Experts say that counseling should be provided to the infected or to others as needed.
Lal Babu Pandit, leader of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) says the government can save many people from suicide if it wants to. He understands that when quarantine and isolation are organized, the morale of not only the people living there but also everyone will be high.
In order to reduce the suicide rate, it is necessary to look at the area of influence and loosen the timber, and to carry out economic activities by adopting necessary security measures, Pandit said.
"The government has been slow to say that the infected will recover, the unemployed will find employment, and those who have lost their jobs will be relieved," said Pandit, who is also a former minister.
