The judgment of the forced marriage case against Nayak Paul Shah pending in the Tanahun district court has ended. The final hearing in the case of Nayak Paul Shah, who is in jail on charges of child sexual abuse, is being held today. According to Paul’s lawyer Kamala Mohan Wagle, the trial will be held today in Tanahun District Court.
In the debate in the bench of Judge Komal Prasad Acharya, 5 legal practitioners including three seniors argued from Shah’s side, while one government lawyer participated from Zaherwala’s side. Acharya will pronounce the verdict shortly. A 17-year-old girl had accused Shah of rape. After today’s verdict of the Tanahun court, it will be decided how long Paul will be in jail.
In addition, the case against movie hero Paul Shah will be heard in Tanahun district court today. The rape charges against him have not been resolved for a long time. The hearing is being held today in the case, which has been adjourned several times.
Earlier, the Nawalparasi District Court, Nawalpur had given its verdict in the case against Shah. According to the court’s verdict on August 21, Shah was acquitted on the charge of rape, while he was sentenced to two and a half years in prison only on the charge of child sexual abuse.
But since the case against Shah is being tried simultaneously in Tanahun and Nawalparasi, Tanahun has not given the verdict yet. The Tanahun court has also requested the decision of the Nawalpur court and after conducting further investigation, the hearing date has been fixed for 3rd of January. Today, it is said that the Tanahun court may decide whether Shah will be acquitted in the rape case or sentenced to imprisonment.
On February 11, Shahvirugh’s complaint of rape was registered at the district police office. On February 15th, Paul himself reached the police station and has been in custody since then. Although initially accused of rape, the case became weak after the minor victim and her father changed their statements in the court and said that it was not rape.
