Bus leaving Palpa for Manakamana accident in Nawalparasi: 5 dead, 24 injured

Palpa, Nawalpur - 5 people were killed when a bus going from Rambha Rural Municipality-1, Hungi to Gorkha for Mankamana darshan of Palpa met with an accident at Bulingtar, Nawalparasi East.  24 people were injured in the accident in Bullingtar-2, Mathar, the police station of one and a half villages said.


Bhuvneshwar Tiwari, Head of District Police Office East Nawalparasi, said that the bus No. 6 Kha 7580 went out of control and fell down about 100 meters from the road.  According to the police, 41-year-old Tara Vik of Rambha Rural Municipality-1 Hungi, 17-year-old Vinay Vik, 62-year-old Dhani Vik, 58-year-old Devi Gaha, 45-year-old Fulmaya Vik of Galyang Municipality-9 in Syangja were involved in the accident.
 One of the two buses of Narayani Transport Pvt Ltd going to Mankamana went ahead and one met with an accident.


According to Prakash Gyawali, a local journalist of Rampur who was at the scene, the bus met with an accident on the road under Kaligandaki Corridor at 3 am on Sunday.  Manakamana left Hongi at 9 pm for darshan.

The crashed bus is stuck in Bhir.  The locals and the police rescued and sent the seriously injured to Narayani Community Hospital Bharatpur and the minor injured to Rampur.

 The police said that 30 injured people were rescued and sent to the hospital.
