Germany could make coronavirus vaccines mandatory as early as February or March 2022, according to chancellor-in-waiting Olaf Scholz. But he insisted that the issue would be decided in parliament.
Paula Piechotta (Greens), a member of the German Bundestag, told DW that many of her colleagues start to understand that Germany needs vaccination rates above 90 percent in order to prevent a fifth or a sixth COVID wave.
