Janakpurdham. The legendary instrument of Tarai-Madhesh is playing drums and pipahi. There is a crowd of people all around in the empty field. Women, children, old and young are all happy.
Worship materials are placed in the crowded circle. The kheer cooked over a fire is placed on a banana leaf. The kheer is decorated with laddu, banana and betel nut.
Handicraft items of Mithila area like Dalia and Mauni are also kept in the place of worship. The sun has made the atmosphere fragrant.
Some men and women are engaged in worship inside the circle. After praying for about half an hour, they start dancing. Now the crowd, believing that God has come, calms down. The quiet crowd now seems to be full of curiosity.
Meanwhile, the sound of drums and trumpets is heard. The women involved in the pooja take off their tied hair and start dancing louder, saying, "Yes, yes, sinful part."
This scene of Dhanusha's Shaheed Municipality-8 Bisarbhora shows that a big puja has been organized. Though mass worship was going on for 12 months in Madhes district, the worship in Bisarbhora was separate.
In fact, it was a pooja organized to ward off the corona virus. Men with sticks in their hands danced and asked, "Who is this virus?"
Some people from the crowd would answer - ‘You belong to another world! It kills people. ”
The crowd seemed to be reassured when the dancing men raised their sticks and said, "Run away, virus."
Bhola Tethbar Yadav, Vishwanath Kurmi, Mangalidevi Das, Kailash Devi Mahara and Sumintradevi Das were in the role of Dhami who ran away from Corona.
As the Corona epidemic continues, worship is taking place in the districts of Madhes. In Bisarbhora, donations of Rs 100 were collected from each household for the 'Corona Bhagaune Pooja'.
In Bisarbhora, cattle were also given in the name of Corona. A goat, two kids and four pigeons were given to him, said local Upendra Yadav.
According to him, some village leaders have protested calling it superstition.
